Background

Optima Racing Team was set up in 2000 by James Beckinsale.  James had been coaching at a larger club, but found that in this environment the coaching was inevitably spread thinly with no real opportunity to focus on the individual requirements of the athletes. 

Since its inception the club has grown consistently year on year, including the addition of a junior section in 2005 (see junior page).  The results in our coaching process are measured through the success of both our senior and junior results at regional, national and global level. 

What’s more the club has received recognition for our coaching, our Head Coach James Beckinsale picking up accolades such as regional and national coach of the year in 2006/1007 by our governing body (British Triathlon Federation).  James also set up and has been the head coach of British Triathlons London Academy for the last 2 years. 

Optima Racing Team are members of the British Triathlon Federation and new and existing club members are encouraged to join their relevant Home Nation Association to take advantage of the benefits that membership offers.
