Optima Racing Team was established in 2000 by James Beckinsale

Who founded the club to create an environment tailored to the individual needs of athletes. Since its inception, the club has demonstrated consistent growth, notably with the introduction of a junior section in 2005

Optima Racing Team is a member of the British Triathlon Federation and new and existing club members are encouraged to join their relevant Home Nation Association to take advantage of the benefits that membership offers.

Gillian Sanders, after only 18months as a full-time athlete, was selected to race at London 2012 then two more Olympics & Commonwealth Games (1 x silver medal) with numerous WTS top 5's & 10's
