Huge congratulations to Mark Klein, our head coach at Optima Tri Stars for winning the Triathlon England Junior Coach of the Year 2022 award. Mark has done a fantastic job engaging kids in and around Richmond, South West London, where Optima team is based. Starting a Junior Optima Tri Stars division in 2019, Mark has hugely increased the profile of the club now running Swim, Bike, Run sessions every week, offering events with other triathlon and athletics clubs. Thanks to Mark loads have tried their first triathlon, a number have been selected to the London Region team and nearly everyone has smiles all the time!!!

Thanks to Mark’s enthusiasm and commitment to the sport, triathlon is now more accessible to kids in the area than ever before. We’re super proud of Mark and this award is highly deserved.
